Dunong
I am building Dunong, an infinite canvas of bite-sized facts about Philippine history, politics, science, technology and culture, guided by Tala, a star from the flag.
How it came together
The challenge
Facts about the Philippines sit in long articles that few people finish. Dunong turns them into short cards you can drag around, stumble on and test yourself on, so learning a little every day feels like play.
The approach
78 facts across seven categories, each labelled in English and Filipino, laid out on a canvas you drag and zoom. Hamon ni Tala quizzes you five questions a round, Balik-tanaw lines the facts up by era on a timeline, and five facts learned in a day earns a medal. Tala is drawn and animated by the Avatar Lab engine. Built with Next.js, React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS.
