The goal
Isla places remote staff with clients who need to see that the hours are real. Pulse records them without getting in the way, and shows staff plainly whenever capture is on.
Case study · 2026
I built Pulse, a desktop time-tracking widget for Isla Outsourcing staff. Staff clock in and out from a small always-on-top window, and while they are on the clock it captures their screen and uploads it to the Isla Portal.

Overview
Isla places remote staff with clients who need to see that the hours are real. Pulse records them without getting in the way, and shows staff plainly whenever capture is on.
Sign-in with the portal account, clock in and out, breaks, and optional screen recording. Captures go to a persistent on-disk queue first, so nothing is lost when the network drops; the queue drains once the portal is reachable again. Each staff member gets an animated Avatar Lab character, and the interface uses Glint UI. Runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, with a download site built in Next.js.
In use by Isla staff, with installers for Windows, macOS and Linux.
